All self-guided groups of 20 people of more MUST: (1) make a reservation with the Eagle River Nature Center, and (2) obtain a permit from Chugach State Park (schools have permission from CSP to self-schedule directly with ERNC)
To make your request (minimum of 7 days notice), scroll thru the calendar to select the desired date: this will bring up a view of the hourly schedule below. Default length is set to 3hrs, but you can adjust.
NOTE that you cannot reserve a lunch time/place. Groups are allowed to eat on the river bank, but not on viewing decks, bridges or trails where they're in the way of other users. There are also picnic tables at the Nature Center -- first come/first serve. PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT!
If you cannot find a suitable slot for your fieldtrip, send us an email with your parameters (date & time options, destination and size of group) and we'll see how we can fit you in. NOTE that the on-line calendar does not allow you to make changes after you have SUBMITTED your request -- contact us directly to request changes.
Once we approve your fieldtrip, you will receive a confirmation email and contract you will need sign and return to hold your reservation. Payment is due on the day of your visit. QUESTIONS: Contact us at naturalist@ernc.org or call (907) 694-9255.
