To request use of a kiln, please email kilnrequest@pratt.org with a brief project description, which kiln(s) you are requesting and the kiln program(s) you will use. Note any special conditions or processes that are outside a typical fusing, slumping or casting process. Please no plaster/silica molds, other moisture or casting processes in Kilns 1, 2 & 5.
Each reservation includes 4 hours of working time in the Kiln Studio and use of 1 kiln for up to 24 hours of a firing schedule. Additional kilns and hours beyond the initial 24 hours are paid based on your kiln use and actual load out time. $40 per kiln per 24 hrs.
Once your request is approved, it will be schedule by the Front Desk.
The Kiln Studio uses prodominately fusible Bullseye Glass. Please do not mix in any other glass into scrap bins or storage areas--bring it home or recycle it.
The Kiln Studio is Lead-free. Only lead-free solder and zinc came for stain-glass construction.
No acids or other toxic materials allowed.
